The Need
AA Capital Partners specializes in investing client capital through a disciplined
process in private equity funds. The company was created as a spin off of ABN
AMRO Fund Investment Group, and is headquartered in Chicago Illinois.
In July of 2002, AA Capital Partners came to UltraLevel with a unique set of issues
and business objectives. First, the company planned to open a branch office in
Detroit Michigan while nearly simultaneously moving its corporate headquarters to a
larger suite in Chicago Illinois. During the expansion, the company also planned to
nearly double its staff and implement a new line of business software solution to
manage investment and partnership accounting, portfolio management and investor
servicing.
All software applications and company data needed to be accessible to the entire AA
Capital Partners team easily, securely, reliably and cost effectively. Furthermore, the
company hoped to obtain the IT Infrastructure and Support it required to run its business
at a predictable and manageable cost with no surprises
The Solution
UltraLevel understood these challenges and introduced Office Online® to the AA Capital Partners management team. The Office Online® solution is built upon Microsoft and Citrix technology. Software applications such as Microsoft Exchange 2000 and Office XP are hosted at UltraLevel’s data center and deployed via Citrix MetaFrame XP. In the case of AA Capital Partners, this completely outsourced solution was provided at a total annual cost significantly less than what the company would pay to maintain a staff IT professional.UltraLevel now hosts all of the company’s applications at its Detroit data center. AA Capital Partners’ employees can access their office desktop from anywhere, at anytime via any device that has access to the Internet.
