Dell EqualLogic 10Gig Ethernet SAN: What you need

December 22nd, 2009

Happy Holidays!

When building your brand new 10Gig SAN with EqualLogic, this is what you need.

  • 10Gig Ethernet NICs for your Servers, Dell has them
  • 10Gig Ethernet Switch, Dell has that too
  • 10Gig EqualLogic Array, of course Dell has that

NOTE: When configuring the PowerConnect 8024F, make sure you order the SFP+ twinax cables to connect the NICs and EqualLogic array

  1. Rasheed says:

Can I connect the EqualLogic PS 6010/6510 Series SAN directly to Broadcom 10G NIC with SFP+: without connecting it to the PowerConnect 8024F 10G Switch with SFP+:?

    Please advise.

  2. Hi Rasheed. If I understand your question correctly, I believe so. I can connect you with an EqualLogic engineer if you send in the question from our Contact Us page. Thanks.
